There are various pros & cons between a Conservatory & Sunroom that you may want to take into consideration before you purchase.

Planning Permission
The planning requirements for a conservatory and a sunroom are the same. A full copy of the planning permissions is available from your local planning office. A brief summary of these rules is that for most standard size conservatories or sunrooms located at the rear of the house, full planning is not required. A Permitted Development Certificate may however be required. We highly recommend you ask for permission from your local authorities before making any alterations to your house.

Building Control
Building Control Approval is always required for a Sunroom but is only required for a Conservatory it structural changes are made to your existing house.

Existing House
A sunroom will darken your existing house more than a conservatory.

Hot & Cold
A sunroom would be a better all year round room, ie not as hot in the summer and not as cold in the winter.

Time on Site
A Conservatory will take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete. A sunroom will take approximately 6-8 weeks to complete.

Price
